Seller Prompt Library — 50 High-Utility Prompts

Ready-to-run prompts for listing creation, pricing, SEO, customer messaging, and operations scaling.

How to Use This Prompt Library

AI prompt cards for sellers

Every prompt in this library has been structured for practical selling results. Before using any prompt, customize the brackets [like this] with your specific item, platform, and context. Generic prompts produce generic output — specificity is what makes the difference.

Prompt quality rule: The more constraint you provide (platform, item condition, target buyer, character limits, fee targets), the better the output.

Listing Creation

  1. "Write an eBay listing for [item] with condition details [details], target buyer [persona], and mobile-first formatting."
  2. "Generate 5 title variants under platform character limits with different keyword emphasis."
  3. "Create bullet points that focus on buyer outcomes, not just features."
  4. "Rewrite this listing with a premium tone while keeping factual accuracy."
  5. "Convert this listing for Facebook Marketplace tone: concise, friendly, negotiation-ready."

Extended example (Listing Creation):

"Write an eBay listing for a used Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch M2 Pro (2023). Condition: Good — light scratches on lid, no screen defects, battery health 91%. Target buyer: professional or student who wants Apple Silicon performance at below-retail price. Use mobile-first formatting with short paragraphs. Character limit: 80 char title, 1000 char description. Include: specs, condition details, what comes in box, shipping policy."

What this produces: A complete, policy-compliant, conversion-oriented listing in under 60 seconds.

Pricing and Margin

  1. "Estimate pricing bands based on these sold comps: [paste comps]."
  2. "Suggest BIN price, offer floor, and auction start price with rationale."
  3. "Calculate break-even after fees, shipping, and packaging for this item."
  4. "Propose markdown plan for unsold inventory at day 14, day 30, day 45."
  5. "Recommend bundle strategy for low-velocity SKUs."
  6. "Calculate the margin impact of reducing price by 10% — how many more units would I need to sell to maintain the same gross profit?"
  7. "Estimate the total landed cost if I sell to a buyer in [country] using USPS Priority Mail International."

SEO and Search Visibility

  4. "Generate backend search terms from this listing summary."
  5. "Create category-specific synonyms and alternate terms buyers use."
  6. "Identify the top 5 buyer personas searching for this product and what language each uses."
  7. "Suggest seasonal keyword additions for [product] in Q4."

Customer Communication

  1. "Draft a response to a low offer that keeps goodwill and protects margin."
  2. "Draft a professional message for delayed shipping with options."
  3. "Write a post-delivery follow-up asking for honest feedback."
  4. "Draft a resolution-first message for damaged-item complaint."

  6. "Write a counter-offer response to a buyer offering 30% below asking."

Prompt Structure That Produces Better Output

Use this template:

Platform: [platform]
Item: [details]
Audience: [buyer persona]
Constraints: [character limits, policy rules, tone requirements]
Objective: [speed, conversion, margin defense, support resolution]
Output format: [title only / bullets only / full listing / email draft]

What this does: Forces specificity that produces platform-ready output rather than generic text that needs heavy editing.

Prompt Iteration Rules

If the first output isn't right, don't start over — iterate:

  1. Too long? Add: "Cut to [X] characters. Keep the most conversion-critical information."
  2. Too generic? Add: "Add more specificity about [condition/feature/audience]."
  3. Wrong tone? Add: "Rewrite in a [more professional / more casual / more urgent] tone."
  4. Missing keywords? Add: "Include these terms naturally: [keyword1], [keyword2]."

Verification Rule

Always validate AI output against real item condition and platform rules before publishing. No prompt replaces:

  • Accurate condition photos
  • Verified specifications
  • Platform policy compliance check
  • Final human review
